When I created Lumina Therapy I wanted to integrate techniques and approaches which would be adaptable and effective for my clients. Making the therapeutic process accessible and tailored to their specific needs and pace.
Lumina Therapy was inspired by the idea of a lighthouse being not just a guide, but a comforting presence in dark times and a symbol of connection. Lumina is a place of openness and acceptance, where step by step we piece together the next phase of your journey together.
Sara Jones
Founder of Lumina Therapy
I work in private practice based in Cascais as well as online and facilitate retreats and workshops in Portugal and elsewhere in Europe. I also teach embodiment and trauma awareness for teachers and other facilitators.
I am passionate about working with people experiencing difficult life transitions, such as bereavement, relationship breakdown, recovery from emotional and physical abuse as well as questions of identity and life purpose.
My approach is tailored to each individual I work with and conducted on a non-diagnostic basis, focused on compassion, empathy and unconditional positive regard.
In my spare time I practice cold exposure, wild swimming and various styles of dance.
